My Passion : Molecular Gastronomy

I have written about 6 blogposts till now and have hardly spoken about myself or about my likes or dislikes. Okay fine I like watching cartoons especially Tom & Jerry but that is not what this blogpost is about.

Since childhood I have always had the passion to cook. The kitchen has been the place in the house where I have spent the maximum time. My interest in the culinary field was a bit obvious as my parents were a part of this field. But not only that ; as a person I always felt attracted to FOOD; not only eating but also cooking.

Basically everyone must be thinking what MOLECULAR GASTRONOMY is all about?
It's just a subdiscipline of food science. In simple terms using science(physical and chemical properties)to make changes in the way food is presented and made. In even simpler words it is COOKING WITH MODERN TOOLS.

This latest or modern method of cooking can do wonders with food. Even a dish which may not look pleasing initially can be made as artistic as that of Mona Lisa.

What I want to do is transform and change the everyday boring dishes into something unique and create that urge among people to immediately grab a spoon and have a bite of it. But one needs to be fairly creative and think out of the box for this.

Take for example the Image Below :

Even in a thousand years you wouldn't be able to guess what this is.
If seen properly these are soup spoons and the round jelly-like things in each spoon is the soup itself. Im sure you read the previous line again and would be like 'WHAT? has he gone barmy', but guess what ? I haven't.
With the help of science a huge bowl of soup can be made into these small spherical jelly-like wonderfully easy-to-eat things. By the way its cream of Chicken with Basil.

This is just one of the many amazing creations which have taken place only because of MOLECULAR GASTRONOMY.
I'll be posting a few more pics of these marvels and will soon write about a few more Molecular Gastronomy-cally inspired dishes.

I laughed at that because it meant one could make a dish out of Mona Lisa...
